Rosemawr Management’s Sustainable Infrastructure Management arm, Whetstone Power and Rosemawr Sustainable Power have purchased a 30 MW AC operational solar power generation facility in Alamosa.
Public Service Company of Colorado, a subsidiary of Xcel Energy, is currently the sole contract to produce the facility’s output. Whetstone Power Operations, which is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Whetstone will provide operations, maintenance, and asset management services. Rosemawr and Whetstone plan to renovate the facility over the long-term by replacing the high concentrating systems with standard photovoltaic systems. This system may also include an energy storage. Much of the existing infrastructure will be preserved as part of the modifications.
“We believe this is a great asset, and alongside Rosemawr, we are proud to continue to serve the City and County of Alamosa, the San Luis Valley and the State of Colorado for years to come with clean renewable energy,” states Collin Franceschi, Whetstone’s founding partner.
“Rosemawr is committed to renewable energy, and we are excited about the potential of this facility as well as our continued partnership with Whetstone,” adds Josh Herlands, managing partner at Rosemawr Sustainable Infrastructure Management.
FTI Capital Advisors acted as a sell side advisor to this project.
