Tigo Releases New 25-Amp Rapid Shutdown Devices for Solar Modules

Tigo Energy Inc. has launched two Tigo TS4 MLPE products 25-amp to support the most recent high-power and high current bifacial sun modules. The Tigo TS4A-F25A and Tigo TS4-2F25A rapid shut down devices provide advanced first-responder safety functionality to solar modules rated up 700 W, including bifacial. Both products are compatible in design with Pure Signal technology in Tigo RSS Transmitters. Additionally, they can be paired with a number of third-party inverters to offer design and installation flexibility to solar installers and EPCs.

The Tigo TS4–A-F 25A, and the Tigo TS4–A-2F 25A are vital building blocks for large-scale industrial and commercial solar installations. Installers can deploy high-wattage solar modules quickly with Tigo TS4 products. This allows them to offer customers the highest energy production per rooftop space.

Because there is no bolt design and no additional ground wiring, Tigo TS4 products reduce labor and balance-of-system costs. Tigo customers and their installers can choose the best equipment for their solar projects by using the Tigo Enhanced program. This allows them to pair inverters from major suppliers, including Tigo Enhanced partners Chint Power Systems, Solectria and Sungrow as well as inverters from Tigo Enhanced partners Chint Power Systems, Chint Power Systems, Chint Power Systems, Canadian Solar, and Growatt.

The new 25-Amp Tigo TS4 devices provide plug-and-play support to all solar modules up 700 W (one module is for TS4 A-F 25A, and two 700W modules are for TS4 A-2F 25A). They are rated for a maximum short-current of 25Amps as well as an input voltage of 80V for each module. They conform to NEC 2017 and 2020 690.12 Quick Shutdown specifications when installed together with the Tigo RSS transmitter and UL PVRSS certified inverter or an Inverter with a Tigo certification transmitter

Frame mounting is easy and takes only 10 seconds to install. These devices are industry-standard MC4 connectors that have an IP68 enclosure rating. They are also IEC and UL-certified to ensure universal acceptance. They can be connected to two modules to TS4-A-2F 25,A to reduce labor time. This allows for 16% fewer connections per 14-panel string than single-channel MLPE.

“At Tigo, we serve a rapidly growing number of customers worldwide who install ever larger C&I systems, and we are pleased to serve that market with safe, reliable, and now even more powerful products,” says Jing Tian, chief growth officer at Tigo Energy. “Our investments in innovation ensure that Tigo remains a solar technology leader, and the more powerful 25-Amp TS4 products are a direct result of that.”

The Tigo TS4 quick shutdown products, 25-amp, are fully compatible (with or without Pure Signal technology) with Tigo RSS Transmitters. They are UL PVRSS-certified and can be used with hundreds of different inverter models from other manufacturers.
