BayWa r.e. PVpallet has partnered with BayWa r.e. to distribute its reusable modular shipping solution. BayWa r.e. now offers the PVpallet SeriesX. Solar Systems LLC is a tool for installers that improves material transport and installation logistics. It also makes their businesses more sustainable.
The solar module-specific reusable, recyclable and collapsible palette is made from a lightweight, collapsible material. PVpallet reduces packaging waste, protects the physical integrity and facilitates staging and transport of modules. This results in fewer damaged modules.
“As a leading distributor of solar and energy storage components, it’s our job to bring innovative products like PVpallet to installers at all levels in the value chain,” says David Dunlap, who recently stepped into his new role as the vice president of product strategy with BayWa r.e. Solar Systems LLC. “BayWa r.e. We achieved carbon neutral operations in 2018; we have been supplied 100% renewable energy since 2020. We also want to go beyond carbon emissions and address a wide range sustainability issues for society, economy, and the environment. Our partnership with PVpallet furthers our commitment to sustainability across the solar industry.”
PVpallets are made from HDPE plastic and have a steel-reinforced bottom and plastic sidewalls that protect the modules during transit. The exterior walls can be adjusted to accommodate different module sizes. For easy return shipping and maximum warehouse space, the walls can collapse and stack pallets. BayWa r.e. BayWa r.e. is exploring future options to make modular pallets more accessible to installers. This could include lease agreements for a fleet or deposit models.
“Like BayWa r.e., sustainability drives everything we do, and this partnership will help reduce waste in the solar industry,” mentions Philip Schwarz, cofounder and CEO of PVpallet. “Our reusable pallets are made in the heartland of America with recycled materials and are fully recyclable at the end of the pallet’s usable life. PVpallet is ideal for PV module storage, transportation and staging at job sites, or any repowering or repair projects where the original module manufacturer’s packaging is no longer available.”
